โ€œWhen I compare
What I have lost with what I have gained,
What I have missed with what attained,
Little room do I find for pride.โ€

Itโ€™s week four of lockdown and I have failed.

With a list of thins to do everyday, I am lucky if I get a single one done.

I think back to all the times Iโ€™ve told people that if I had more free time then I would get so much done.

I think back to all the times Iโ€™ve told people that if I had more free time then I would work out and get fit.

I think back to all the times Iโ€™ve told people that if I had more free time then I would finish all the things I had meant to finish before but just couldnโ€™t find the time.

Now I have all the time, and nothing is being done.

Iโ€™m trying, god knows I am trying, but the pull is stronger than I.

โ€œI am aware

How many days have been idly spent;
How like an arrow the good intent

Has fallen short or been turned aside.โ€œ

It could be the end times out there, and I am doing nothing.

But then again, so are many others out there.

Most people are in the same boat right now, and even if you do nothing, youโ€™re doing okay.

Many people are hurting, are working, are sick, are suffering, are busy, are tired, and if youโ€™re worrying about not doing as much as you wanted, thatโ€™s valid, but youโ€™re still doing good by staying inside and protecting lives.

Itโ€™s okay if you spend your time not doing what others consider unproductive.

Itโ€™s okay if you spend the lockdown doing nothing, as long as itโ€™s your nothing.

Itโ€™s okay if youโ€™re not the person you thought you would be.

Even if you get up in the morning, if you brush your hair or have a shower, read a book or write a post, video chat with friends or send them a โ€œHey, how are you?โ€ message, even if you get through a bunch of episodes of a pretty good show, even if you saw a bunch of dank ass memes, then youโ€™ve done something, and thatโ€™s something.

And let us not forget, Iโ€™ve just started a blog.

โ€œBut who shall dare

To measure loss and gain in this wise?
Defeat may be victory in disguise;

The lowest ebb is the turn of the tide.โ€œ
