Thomas McClure (He/They), also known as TAM, is a Scottish writer in the science fiction, fantasy, and abstract genres, and has also worked in video producing, storytelling, scriptwriting, playwriting, poetry, and more.
Showing an interest in writing from a very young age, Thomas has spent years working on their craft and refining their passion into a talent. In 2020, he began uploading his work onto this website and onto his YouTube channel. In 2021, they graduated from the University of Glasgowโs postgraduate Creative Writing course, becoming a Master of Letters. He also participated in the inaugural year of the Bunbury Banter Theatre Companyโs Young Playwright Programme, developing his work with professional playwrights and theatre creatives from across the UK, and in November 2020 he had his Play โFunctionโ performed over Zoom. He is also became a part of Performance Collective Stranraer, a developmental organization of artists from southwest Scotland interested in theatre, in early 2023, and he has been a collaborating artist in Magnetic Northโs Rough Mix, a two week residency in early 2024. Thomas writes theatre reviews for the CatStrand, whom he has worked with on various projects since 2018, and is a part of the Theatre Royalโs Playwrights group. Thomas McClure also works as a bartender and bar supervisor as their day job.
Thomasโs storytelling interests involved a wide range of topics and themes. He has produced short stories, monologues, short films, feature-length films, theatre reviews, essays, short plays, and more. Their work touches upon themes of identity, gender and queerness, intersectionality, systemic issues, power structures, revolutions, reactionary politics, climate change, and more. His intent for his stories are to have an impact, whether it be on the global stage or a single person; he seeks to motivate, educate, inspire, and open oneโs mind to new ideas, experiences, politics, perspectives, and pathways in life.
